Tattoos Eleven years ago today

As we commemorate the 11th anniversary of 9/11, take time to view these indelible reminders of the terrorist attacks that changed our country. These brave individuals decided to remember the fallen in their own unique way--with ink. These tribute tattoos serve as a reminder to all of us of that moment in time that took more than 3,000 from us on home soil.

A day we will never forget

For those who were of an age to remember on September 11, 2001, we know where we were when we heard the news. At 8:46 a.m. a plane had flown into the northeast face of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. News anchors reported the story live and when a second plane slammed into the South Tower, an orange fireball exploded across our TV screens. We stood stunned watching as the realization sunk it. It was no accident. We were under attack.

The world watched as first responders desperately attempted to help those trapped above the fire and out of reach. When the first tower collapsed we watched in disbelief, and when the second tower came down, we were left with an apocalyptic scene that seemed impossible in the United States.

Let us never forget those who lost their lives that day in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93.
